On 1 September 2004, I joined Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Derby as a Senior Lecturer. I was formerly a Senior Lecturer in Geology at Oxford Brookes University. My teaching includes sedimentology, stratigraphy, basin analysis, volcanology and geological fieldwork. My research is concerned with various aspects of sedimentology and volcanology. I have a particular interest in geoscience education and computer-aided learning, and in the geology of the Languedoc region, southern France. The virtual-geology.info web site is a joint project between Dr Paul Guion and myself.
