  • dark blue tones of the deep ocean
  • rough light blues of the reef tract
  • smoother light to medium blues of the back-reef lagoon
  • the partially vegetated island chain of the Keys
  • network pattern of linear mud banks in the shallow, carbonate-mud dominated greenish waters of Florida Bay (and Biscayne Bay to the north)
